This project I made for the Challenge called Treat Time. It could be a treat bag, gift bag or box for any occasion. I did a gift bag suitable for a birthday to hold bath time items. Really wanted to use the Kraftin Kimmie Lovely Lulu stamp of Lulu and her teddy in the bathtub.

Color Me Creative Classroom Challenge #53 Bright, Fun Colors

Love this effect. Saw the card done up at a scrapbooking store then saw it on the front cover of "Just Cards" Summer 2012. Didn't have the same stamp at the time (but do now). So easy to do and has such a real "pop" to it. Just stamp with white ink on black cardstock and emboss with white embossing powder and then colour with copics. The instructions didn't say to use flourescent copics. The colours look bright with just the regular copics but if you had any of those flourescent ones now would be a good time to give them a whirl.

Kraftin Kimmie Challenge 149 It's Skull-tastic

For this Krafin Kimmie challenge the only requirement was that there had to be skulls on the card in some form - stamp, paper, embellishment, etc. I used some background paper with skulls on it.

Kraftin Kimmie Happy Anniversary Challenge #2 "Anything Goes"

Using today as an excuse to hide myself in my craft room and get some cards made. World Card Making Day - how can I not. This Anything Goes Challenge at Kraftin Kimmie's gave me the incentive to get going on some Christmas Cards and really wanted to use this stamp by Kraftin Kimmie called Toymaker Elf. Birthday Floral Stem and Butterfly

Whipper Snapper Monstrosity Birthday

Whipper Snapper Monstrosity image was stamped onto copic paper with Memento Tuxedo Black. It was then coloured with Copics (YR12,16,14,18, E07,09, BG12, 93,96,99). The image was then cut out using Spellbinders Classic Rectangles Large and then sponged with Tim Holtz Rusty Hinge while still in the die leaving a white edge. The image was then layered with some Bazzill brown CS and then some Recollections orange CS and added to the card with pop dots for dimension. The base of the card used Bazzill brown CS the a smaller square of the orange CS. The patterned papers used on the front and inside of the card were from My Mind's Eye "Stella and Rose" 6x6 paper pad. For a little interest I added a strip of brown CS cut with MS Dippity Doo punch which seemed to go with the monster image. The sentiment was from Kaiser Kraft Mini Sentiments and stamped onto a Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio Two die and the sponged in the same way as the image. It was then attached to the card using some Celebrate It Basics brown Grossgrain ribbon. The inside of the card was done using some of the coordinating paper from the same Stella and Rose paper pad.

Antique Car Father's Day Card

This was a digital stamps called "Antique Car" posted May 23, 2012 at http://freevintagedigitalstamps.blogspot.ca . I impossed the text onto the image using a script font. I printed it on my inkjet printer onto copic paper the coloured it with copics to give it an aged, distressed look. The copics I used were E30, E33, E35, E37. I sponged the edges and some surface with Memento Potter's Clay, the curled the edges with the scissor edge and inked the edges with Memento Rich Cocoa. I assembled the card using Bazzill Gold CS as the base and layered the elements with Bazzill Brown CS. The patterned paper is from BoBunny Weekend Market.

Copic Colouring Comparison- Bunnies

These 3 images were all coloured with copics using 3 different colour combos. The first one used W00, W1, W2, W3 (all warm gray). The second was coloured with N0,N1, N4 (neutral), and the third was coloured with C00, C1, C2, C3 (cool gray). They were all nice and depending on the colours of the paper used to make the card one might be nicer than the other. The stamp is called "Leap Frog" from Lili of the Valley. So many cute images.

Card Kit

These are 5 cards (2 of each) I made that I was sent as a bonus kit with an online order
.

Whipper Snapper Woodland Pals Christmas Cards

PPSS * I have copied this design from Tara Nixon of Creative Accents in Williams Lake. I hope she doesn't mind. They do say that copying someone elses work is the most sincere form of flattery. I hope she thinks so. I have made a few small changes but I loved her card so much I didn't really want to change anything. Tara - you are a very talented lady.
" Well, I finally finished these Christmas Cards. The stamps is Whipper Snapper "Woodland Pals". It was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black onto GinaK 120lb Luxury White Cardstock. I then coloured it with Copic Markers ( C1,3,5,7 E34,35,37,39, E30,31, B91,93,95,99. I then simply cut it into a rectangle and then sponged around the edges with Memento Dessert Sand and inked the edges with VersaColour Pinecone. I then mounted it onto Bazzil brown CS to frame the image. For a little added dimension I added some DecoArt Snow Writer to the hats and snow on the bottom and before it dried I sprinkled it with some Crystal Glitter Ritz Cool Highlights for a little sparkle. The rest of the card was completed with rectangles of patterned paper from the BoBunny "Snowfall" 6x6 paper pad. I distressed the edges of each of these pieces using Adirodack Acrylic Paint Dauber in Snow Cap. Then each piece was mounted again onto pieces of Bazzil Brown CS. All the pieces were layered onto a 6x6 Bazzil blue CS. For embellishments I used some "Merry Minis" glittery snowflakes I picked up a Michael's in their Christmas decoration section. I added some Kaiser Denium Pearls on the corner and to the snowflakes. The larger brown flower I picked up individually packed (I think they may have been from a Prima flower collection) and then daubed them with the paint dauber. The little brown flowers I purchased as a spray but had now blue flowers the right shade so I got out some white flowers and sprayed them with Glimmer Mist Frost and Smooch Spritz Sea Breeze. The insides of the cards are each a little different as I used up the paper pad. I cut the message out of plain white CS with Spellbinders using the largest of the Standard Circles Small and then layered it some Bazzil brown CS cut using Spellbinders larges of the Classic Scalloped Circles Small. The sentiment is called "Bright and Happy Holiday" by Impression Obession and then I inked and sponged the edges with Memento Dessert Sand for a more muted effect. I left space to be able to sign the card.

Sunday, May 20, 2012

Once again, this image has been sitting on my desk awaiting assembly for quite some time now. The image was stamped with Inkadinkado Floral Inspiration stamp onto Gina K 120lb pure luxury cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured with copics (sorry, I didn't record the colours I used). The image was then cut out using Spellbinders oval die and distressed with Memento Dessert Sand and a sponge. It was then mounted onto some Bazzil green cardstock cut with Spellbinders scalloped oval die. Bazzil green cardstock was used for the card base, layered with Bazzil brown cs and pieces of Basic Grey "Curio" patterned paper. The edges were inked and distressed using Versa Mark pinecone ink. Can't remember off hand where I got the "With Sympathy" sentiment from but it was stamped using Memento Brown ink and cut with Spellbinders oval die, distressed with Desert Sand and layered with some brown grossgrain ribbon. The inside of the card was finished with another sheet from the Curio line and a message area created with Spellbinders Lacey Squares and Square dies.

Hero Arts Red Poppy All Occasion Card

This was a stamped image from Hero Arts called Delicate Blossoms. It was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Gina K 120lb luxury cardstock. Then it was coloured using copics - R22, R24, R27, R29, YG 95,YG97, YG99 and shadowed with T3. I had a bad bleed over on one of the smaller poppies and the blender pen couldn't correct it so I covered it up with a butterfly. The butterfly image I cut out of another image I stamped with the Inkadinkado stamp called Time Flies Collage. It was also coloured with copics - YR12,14,18, YO8,18, V17. I pieced the second wing underneath to look more like a butterfly that has landed on the flower. The whole image was cut out using Spellbinders Labels 8 along with some red cardstock cut from the same Spellbinder to frame the image. The image was edged with some Memento Tuxedo Black and distressed with Memento Dessert Sand and a sponge. The image was mounted onto a piece of black and silver striped pattern paper I had in my stash and couldn't find a manufacture on it. It was all mounted onto Bazzil white cardstock and used some sheer red ribbon to complete it. The inside of the card was done using some Basic Grey Little Black Dress "Elegant" paper and an area created for a message using some black, red and white cardstock. It didn't add any sentiment and decided to leave it blank as an all occasion card.

Flower Pot Card

This tutorial I found on SplitCoastStampers and liked the idea. Rather than use premade store bought flowers I decided to make my own using punches I had. I punched the flowers using 3 sizes of the same shape punch from patterned paper then distressed all the edges with pinecone ink and bent the petals a bit for dimenstion. Then I layered and offset the flowers and finished them with a small botton in the centre. I also punched some leaves to give it a more finished look. I cut the tag on the front of the flower pot using Spellbinders. I don't remember the name of the stamps I used for the tag or the inside sentiment. It was finished with some dotted green grograin ribbon.

Easter Cupcakes

Just finished making some Easter cupcakes and they turned out pretty cute. Iced them using the grass decorator tip and green icing. Topped with Marshmallow Peeps and a few Cadbury Mini Eggs. Pretty easy.

Pond Pals Baby Quilt

This is a baby quilt I had planned to make for my new grandbaby twins coming home but didn't get it ready in time so it ended up being a Christmas present. Pattern from Quiltmaker magazine I borrowed from a fellow quilter. It combines some paper piecing, applique and blocks. Took forever finding just the right fabrics for all the different parts.

3D Flower Class

These two cards were from a workshop I took out at Country Lane Scrapbooking in Surrey. The technique was fun to do and created a pretty impressive looking card (but not a good one for mailing).

Wax Resist

I watched a video on this technique on Stamp TV by Gina K. Loved the effect and so easy I had to try right away. Simply stamp the image and fill in using a white crayon (stole one from my grandson - actually I asked and he said he didn't like or use the white one anyway). then the background was sponged with ink. Lastly, any excess ink was removed from stamped image with a paper towel. Easy Peezy.

Copic Class-Poppies

A class by Marie Kirkwood at Scrap Arts, North Vancouver. This was an introductory copic class and I learned alot of new things and I hope improved my technique. This photo is a little washed out. The colours were actually very vivid and the picture doesn't do it justice.

Watercolour with reinkers

These cards are all from a workshop by Marie Kirkwood that I took at Scrap Arts, North Vancouver. The effect is very impressive and difficult looling but surprizingly easy to do. Want to do a bunch more cards in this technique if I am ever home long enough.

Black Magic on Kraft Paper

A cool technique done by stamping an image onto Kraft Cardstock using black ink. The image is then coloured in using pencil crayons (crayol type work fine).

Flowers in a Vase

I have had this stamp for ions and never used it until I saw a card done with it on the internet. Once I used it, it has become one of my favourites. I believe it was a Hero Arts stamp - one of the first stamps I ever bought. I stamped it with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and coloured the image with copics. Pink and green is one of my favourite colour combos and love this patterned paper. Unfortunately I got a bit too sloppy when I distressed the edges of the Spellbinder (I know distressing is not meant to be neat but this was a little too messy). Used some of the pattern paper on the card inside as well. Love the soft effect of the second card. I did softer, more delicate colouring on the image for it. The embossing on the background cardstock really gives a lovely effect I think and like the labels and ovals from Spellbinders for the image and sentiment.

Easter Cards - 2011

For these Easter cards I used two stamps I have from Whipper Snapper. Both were stamped using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then coloured with copics (colours recorded at home). The third card I made as an Easel Card and used some Martha Steward border punches and hand cut the grass. The eggs were a cheap $1 stamp I cut out and scattered on the grass. The Happy Easter sentiment was also a cheap $1 stamp. Like the plaid patterned paper on the second card but the stamp is so large only a small border of it shows.
